This system enables premium wines to be offered by the glass.
It is a needle-through-the-cork system which siphons wine out of the bottle. So the cork stays in place while the wine flows. The remaining wine never comes into contact with oxygen (ie does not oxidise) and the cork reseals itself in just a few minutes.
It was invented and developed over 10 years by Greg Lambrecht, a medical device innovator with a passion for wine and innovative technology. The needle is similar to the one used in chemotherapy and the cork similar to the implant put under the skin, and through which the needle goes. The other half of the system is the argon gas which is injected through the needle to pressurise the bottle.
